CP MARAFA DECORATES NEWLY PROMOTED OFFICERS

Nine Senior Police officers in Osun State Police Command who were newly promoted to their next ranks by the Police Service Commission have been decorated by the State Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Marafa.

The promoted officers were among those who were magnanimously recommended by the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase.

At the occasion which was graciously attended by high-ranking officers of the command amidst families, friends and colleagues of the promoted officers, CP Marafa conveyed the IGP’s congratulatory message to the officers.

Marafa who spoke extensively on the need for the newly promoted officers to ensure that the new rank serves as an encouragement to do better than before, charged them to be more proactive in the discharge of their duties with a view to creating an enabling environment for the people of the country.

For the umpteenth time, the State Police Commissioner, CP Abubakar Marafa has given letters of commendation and cash award to some men of the State Police Command which include seven men of Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS in Osogbo.
The seven award recipients were members of a SARS unit who, in their renewed vigor and determination to get the state rid of robbery, kidnapping and other vices, have been responsible for the successes recorded in recent time by the Special Anti Robbery Squad in Osun State.

Led by the unit leader, Inspector Felix Okeyemi , the team was responsible for the recent recue of one Abayomi Semowo and the arrest of his abductors, Ayo Sunday and Damilare Ojo at a location very close to Imo in Ilesa. Semowo who was abducted at a location very close to Osogbo Stadium was rescued barely two days after his abduction without any ransom paid.

Residents and passers-by at the popular and ever-busy Old –Garage, Osogbo Osun State are now happy that the prestigious Dugbe Police Divisional Headquarters has been given a facelift. The police station, which had been in poor condition for over a decade, is now a beauty to behold for many people courtesy of the series of renovation works carried out recently.


Even officers and men of the Osun State Police Command attached to the station, which is one of the oldest in Osogbo, Osun State capital, could not hide their joy over the development.

They are full of thanks and appreciation to the new Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of station, CSP Babatunde Sowole, for turning the fortune of the station around within a short period of time.

Some of the officers who spoke with The New Dawn correspondent in Osogbo maintained that with the renovation of the station, CSP Sowole has demonstrated a good example of leadership within the police force.
