Nine Senior Police
officers in Osun State Police Command who were newly promoted to their next
ranks by the Police Service Commission have been decorated by the State Commissioner
of Police, Abubakar Marafa.
The promoted officers were
among those who were magnanimously recommended by the Inspector General of
Police, Solomon Arase.
At the occasion which was
graciously attended by high-ranking officers of the command amidst families,
friends and colleagues of the promoted officers, CP Marafa conveyed the IGP’s congratulatory
message to the officers.
Marafa who spoke
extensively on the need for the newly promoted officers to ensure that the new
rank serves as an encouragement to do better than before, charged them to be
more proactive in the discharge of their duties with a view to creating an
enabling environment for the people of the country.
While thanking the IGP and
the chairman PSC, Sir Mike Okiro for approving the promotion of police officers
across the country, Marafa urged the newly promoted officers never to forget
that their promotion was premised on the recommendation of the Inspector
General of Police, Solomon Arase who upon his appointment promised to look into
the welfare of all officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force.
“I want to congratulate
you on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase who has
magnanimously recommended you for this promotion. Indeed, the police high
command is working round the clock to ensure the adequate and appropriated
welfare package as well as encouragement for all officers and men cut across
the country”
No fewer than four Deputy
Superintendent of Police, (DSP) were promoted to Superintendent of Police, (SP)
while five Assistant Superintendent of police, (ASP) were promoted to (DPS) and
decorated by the Osun State Police boss.
Speaking on behalf of his
colleagues, newly promoted SP (Dr) Ehimare Adagbasa, the Officer in Charge of the Police
Clinic, Osun State Command thanked the Inspector General of Police, Solomon
Arase for the gesture and ensuring the promotions of himself and his
colleagues.
Adagbasa promised the
readiness of himself and his colleagues to work within their ambits for the
betterment of the State and the country at large.
