CP MARAFA DECORATES OUSTANDING SARS MEN

For the umpteenth time, the State Police Commissioner, CP Abubakar Marafa has given letters of commendation and cash award to some men of the State Police Command which include seven men of Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS in Osogbo.
The seven award recipients were members of a SARS unit who, in their renewed vigor and determination to get the state rid of robbery, kidnapping and other vices, have been responsible for the successes recorded in recent time by the Special Anti Robbery Squad in Osun State.

Led by the unit leader, Inspector Felix Okeyemi , the team was responsible for the recent recue of one Abayomi Semowo and the arrest of his abductors, Ayo Sunday and Damilare Ojo at a location very close to Imo in Ilesa. Semowo who was abducted at a location very close to Osogbo Stadium was rescued barely two days after his abduction without any ransom paid.


They were also members of the team that, against all odds, arrested the kidnappers of an Ilesa based business mongul, Architect Idowu Obembe who was kidnapped in his office located along Ijebu-Jesa road in Ilesa and also putting an end to the heinous act of a dare-davil armed robbery syndicate who were marked down after they have successfully robbed residents of Oke-Baale area, Osogbo.

CP Marafa while presenting the award and the letter of recommendation noted that the command was aware of the efforts put in place by members of the SARS which has yielded to positive results adding that it is pertinent for the command to commend them for their effort.

The successes recorded by the Unit according to the CP has brought to the fore the renewed efforts of the command in tackling crime and criminality in every nook and cranny of the State stressing that their names will be boldly written in the command’s annals of history.

Though some notorious armed robbery gang had unleashed terror on the unsuspecting people of Osun State which called for command to re-strategize in its fight against crime, but many thanks to the Unit under the leadership of DSP Adekunle Omoyele, the officer in charge of SARS and his men who have brought to an end the illicit act of these men of underworld.   

 While charging on the need to be more conscious of the fact that the entire people of the state rely solely on the police for the protection of life and their hard-earned properties, the state police helmsman, Abubakar Marafa challenged officers and men of the command to put in more efforts in the command major onslaught on criminals.

CP Marafa who stated that there are rewards for hard-work with a promise to continue encouraging officers who standout in the discharge of their duties, added that though it is the collective responsibilities of both the police and members of the public to ensure that the country continue to enjoy the relative peace.

“I want to charge you all to ensure that you continue to contribute your quota to the development of the country by ensuring the success of our fight against crime in this state. While we are prepared to give rewards to any of you that work hard and discharged his duty without resentment, it is however for all of us to ensure that we justify the confident repose in us by the people of the state”.

The award recipients who were presented the AWARD OF EXEPTIONAL DISPLAY OF COURAGE were Inspector Felix Okeyemi, SGT Ajibola Kolawole,  SGT Abiodun Gbenga, CPL Oguntosin Oluwadare, CPL Olaniyan Afeez,  CPL Akeem Adetoro,  CPL Alidu Adaralewa, while F/No. 042818 W/CPL Oladokun Ebunlomo was given an AWARD FOR HER EXCEPTIONAL BOLDNESS AND COURAGE IN CHAMPIONING THE COURSE OF WOMEN FOLK AND THEIR WELFARE.
